RAID LEVELS

The data is stored on both drives at the same time. If one disk fails the computer continues without disruption. You need at least 2 drives for a RAID 1. This level of RAID is beneficial to the day trader on any mission critical application.

Advantages

This type of RAID offers first-rate read speed and write speed similar to a single drive.

If one drive fails the computer continues. Just replace the failed drive to have it rebuilt.

Disadvantages

You only have 1/2 of the drive capacity. This is because all data is written twice.
