RAID LEVELS

Which RAID level is best for you. A lot depends on your situation. What kind of speed do you need? Is your application mission critical. Do you have a back-up computer if you lost all your data and operation.

Day-Traders should opt for some type of redundancy system as they can't afford to go down while trading. Most common RAID would be RAID 1. Also consider RAID 5 AND 0+1.

The speed for back testing can be increased by using RAID 0. Remember this should not be mission critical as if one drive fails all data is lost.
