2) Ernie Quigley Monday Oct 19 - 10:00am ET
http://www.harmonictiming.com/
Biography: Ernie Quigley is the founder and president of
Harmonic Timing. Educated in corporate finance at the University of Kansas,
Ernie entered into the stock market in the late 1960s. He became a stockbroker
for Hornblower & Weeks - Hemphill & Noyes, a New York Stock Exchange
member firm in 1969. This association led him to study the "technical" side of
analysis. He studied the works of George Lindsay, Edson Gould, Larry Williams,
and the up and coming computer expert, William O'Neil.
In the mid-1970s Mr.
Quigley left the brokerage business but continued his market studies. In the
early 1980s he developed a keen interest in cycles and the works of the
legendary W.D. Gann. His passion for knowledge led him to study for a number of
years with Jerome Baumring, Ph.D., an internationally recognized authority on WD
Gann.
“Jerry” required his students to follow in Gann’s footsteps by reading
the works on Gann’s recommended reading list that were available. (These books,
mainly from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, are very rare and out of print.
Jerry had almost a complete collection of the books on this list and shared them
with his students.) Jerry required his students to hand chart data in the way
W.D. Gann hand charted is data. Ernie has hand charted the price of soybeans
from the date of the first trade on October 5, 1936 to October 13, 1989.
In
February of 1994 Mr. Quigley purchased the first book of Bradley F. Cowan's
series of books. Mr. Cowan has greatly influenced the analysis work of Mr.
Quigley. Ernie considers Mr. Cowan to be THE foremost expert in the use of
Gann’s natural cycles in forecasting various markets.

Ken began trading futures in the early 1990s, and has dedicated over a decade to discovering what really works in the market. He developed a systematic way of reading the charts to determine the direction and strength of the trend, which enables him to use trading strategies to trade either with the trend or against it. Ken also uses Fibonacci ratios in a unique way to pinpoint tops and bottoms. To teach his methodologies, he produced a set of DVDs called ”SuperStructureTrading,” in which his students find success trading stocks, futures, FOREX, currencies, and bonds in all time frames. He currently mentors students for Pacific Trading Academy (1-800-339-8588). Mr. Chow graduated from UCLA with a degree in engineering.

These tools can also be used to complement other trading strategies. He will discuss how “skewing” along with the depth of the retracements can easily determine the strength of any trend. Many chart examples will be presented to illustrate these powerful concepts.
5) Dan Cook Monday Oct 19 - 1:00pm ET
Biography: Dan Cook brought ten years of experience in the financial markets with him to his senior market analyst role at IG Markets, Inc. In his current position, his focus is on currency and options on currency markets. Mr. Cook is responsible for writing daily market commentary for press distribution as well as posting forward-looking analysis based on a combination of technical and fundamental indicators. In 1998, he began trading for himself in the equities markets. Trading through the bull market of the 1990s and through the bursting of the technology bubble in the early 2000s, and particularly through the turbulent markets of 2008 and 2009, has given Mr. Cook a firm understanding of trading during diverse market conditions. It was during these times that he developed his passion for technical analysis and has continued to hone his market forecasting skills. In 2006, Mr. Cook moved full-time into the currency markets as a trading coach. Through this experience, he has had the opportunity to work with a wide array of trader types and styles, further broadening his understanding of the markets. As an experienced presenter, Mr. Cook is able to communicate the intricacies of trading principles and analysis in a clear and concise manner. He has become the go-to source for financial journalists at the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News, Forbes, National Public Radio, Associated Press, CNNMoney.com, and Thomson-Reuters and is a regular on CNBC and Bloomberg Television.
Title: Developing a Trading Plan
Description: Just as all businesses require a written plan to be successful, trading is no exception. Unfortunately, many people overlook this crucial element and their trading success is hindered because of it. Often times the mis-conception in the market is that "if I have a strategy that is right, more often than it is wrong, I can make money". In reality, a strategy is only a small part of successful trading and the best traders are the ones that have a good trading plan and have the discipline to execute it consistently every day.
During this session we will be discussing several of the elements required when developing a trading plan. We will begin by discussing how we can set trading goals and learn what type of trader we may be. The next, and what I consider one of the most crucial elements will involve our risk and money management parameters. From there we will move on to look at some components that should be a part of any strategy, trade documentation and our skills assessment.
Because a trading plan is a very personal document, it makes sense that what works for one trader, will not necessarily, nor probably work for any other. With that in mind, we will not be providing a "cookie cutter" trading plan that was successful for someone else. Rather our goal during this session will be to provide you with a framework and a template from which you can create your own, customized trading plan, uniquely suited to your individual goals and style.

He started studying technical analysis in 1992 and began researching the trading systems of WD Gann, George Bayer, RN Elliot along with many others in 1993. Many years were also spent studying dozens of different technical forecasting systems which in the end led to nothing but disappointment and technical dead ends up until this point.
Several years were also spent studying countless metaphysical theories in relation to technical analysis and forecasting from such authors as Johndro, Levi, Gillen, Case, Sepharial, Jensen, Dewey, Parker and others on such subjects as ancient astrology, astronomy, sacred proportions, time cycles, electrical engineering theories and more.
After realizing how much work and time was needed to hand draw all the different price and time charts used for researching the different Gann and Bayer's price and time tools he developed the "Gann Grids Printing Program" at first for personal use and later for resale.
To date Mr Giordano's greatest achievement has undoubtedly been the development of the Gann Grids Ultra Basic and advanced version software. The unique software not only allows for easy on screen research featuring many of the master's methods but also has been credited as being one of the best astro technical research products for the price.

17) Leonard Novy Tuesday Oct 20 - 4:00pm ET
http://www.trainingfortraders.com/
Biography: If you haven’t heard about Leonard Novy, that would make sense. As a teacher, and a creator, he has managed to stay under the radar of the commercial mainstream. His student roster is almost entirely referral only, coming from traders who have experienced his work, telling other traders who haven’t, and it has kept him very busy. He is a wise, experienced player in what he likes to call the “trading game-board”. His creations, “Novy Principles of Market Flow”, the “Gates of Confirmation”, the “Hybrid Charts” for day traders, and other key theories, is a culmination of the last 40 years of price and timing technologies. What is particularly remarkable about his work, is that it reveals how every move and turn in the market, has a functional purpose. It is this understanding of how markets function, that facilitates and affects the psychology of the trader. Traders are continually adjusting to new conditions, and volatilities, and in day trading, sometimes from moment to moment. The market is a moving target, and while conditions and volatility may change, functionality never does. Understanding the function of market movement is key to gaining confidence with regard to entries and exits. Leonard’s Lesson Modules are clearly understandable, ever enlightening, and a constant source of reference.
Topic: Explore the Novy Principles of Market Flow.
Desecription: If you haven’t heard about Leonard Novy, that would make sense.
His work, “Novy Principles of Market Flow”, opens the doors to the “Gates of Confirmation”, that uncover an infra structure and super structure completely interlocked and built on a simple nugget of price movement. This repetitive nugget of price movement carries with it information about the speed of momentum as a braking mechanism or as an accelerator.
His “Hybrid Charts” especially created for day traders, are smooth and detailed at the same time. If you struggle with timing signals, struggle no more.
He has blended “price and timing signals”, into a fascinating treatise on momentum. His work and his style of teaching has attracted hedgers, floor traders, market makers, fund managers, partners of Wall Street firms, brokers, CEOs, entrepreneurs, and professionals in many walks of life, wanting to test their skills as traders. His teaching is performance based rather than just informational.
What is particularly remarkable about his work, is that it reveals how every move and turn in the market, has a functional purpose. It is this understanding of how markets function, that facilitates and affects the psychology of the trader. The market is a moving target, and while conditions and volatility may change, functionality never does. Understanding the function of market movement keeps a trader on course with the flow. That creates confidence with regard to entries and exits. Leonard’s Lesson Modules are clearly understandable, ever enlightening, and a constant source of reference as all of his lessons are spontaneous and contemporary with the current market flow.
See why professional traders refer other traders to Leonard and his teachings. Every student is an individual each with different needs. Confidence in trading comes from knowing yourself and trusting your work. For more on Leonard Novy’s life work and his biography please see

18) Jim Wyckoff Tuesday Oct 20 - 5:00pm ET
www.jimwyckoff.com
Biography: Jim Wyckoff is the proprietor of the "Jim Wyckoff on the Markets" analytical, educational and trading advisory service (www.jimwyckoff.com). He is also a technical analyst for Dow Jones Newswires and the senior market analyst with TradingEducation.com. Jim is also a consultant with the highly respected "Pro Farmer" agricultural advisory service. Jim was also the head equities analyst at CapitalistEdge.com. He received his degree from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where he studied journalism and economics.
Jim has spent nearly 25 years involved with the stock, financial and commodity markets. He was a financial journalist with the FWN newswire service for many years, including stints as a reporter on the rough-and-tumble commodity futures trading floors in Chicago and New York. As a journalist, he has covered every futures market traded in the U.S., at one time or another.
It didn’t take Jim long to realize the successful traders and analysts in every market—be it pork bellies, Treasury bonds or stock index futures—had a common thread among them: nearly all relied on technical analysis to give them an edge.
Not long after he began his career in financial/commodity market journalism, Jim began studying technical analysis. He found it fascinating. By studying chart patterns and other technical indicators, Jim realized the playing field could be leveled between the “professional insiders” in the markets, and traders/analysts like himself. How can this be? This is how: Market (or stock) price activity and price history, including volume, is a composite reflection of every news event and-or other fundamental factor known to all traders. Price activity also factors in ideas and speculation about the future prospects, and future news, for the market (or stock).
If an individual trader/analyst tried to study and learn all there is to learn about a stock or a futures market, including knowing all the fundamentals that impact, or could impact the stock or commodity, it would be nearly a full-time job. And even if a trader did spend all his time studying a market or stock, he still would not know as much, as soon, as the professional insiders. This is why successful traders and analysts employ technical analysis. Importantly, Jim also spends time studying the fundamentals in markets.
Jim believes traders/analysts who have been involved with commodity, financial and stock index futures markets have an advantage in today’s stock and commodity market environment. This is because the more volatile stock market environment of today is just like the volatile commodity and financial futures markets that have been around for many years. Being a successful trader/analyst in volatile markets requires specialized strategies, in order to maximize profits. Successful traders and analysts have been forced to deal with volatility on a routine basis.
Following are just a few of Jim's most important trading tenets:
---Like success at any other job, successful trading requires hard work. There are no short-cuts. Do your homework before initiating any trade.
---Simple trading/analytical strategies work the best. Jim has read the classic technical analysis books and talked face to face with the best market professionals in the world. Most agree that, as Jim's friend Stewart Taylor says, “Simple is Simply Better” when it comes to employing successful trading and analytical strategies. All the neural networks and powerful computers in the world won’t compare to a good, basic and well-researched trading plan. Don’t confuse simple strategies with easy trading. Simple trading methodologies still require a lot of preparation and work.
In an active stock, FOREX or commodity markets, it’s critical to let trading profits run, and cut losses short. If Jim's technical signals are on the mark, he will let the market work in his favor and profits will accrue. If the market turns against him, Jim will have had tight protective stops in place to get him out of the trade before any serious damage is inflicted.
Jim's mission is not just to generate profits for you, but to also provide educational and insightful information to you. In this fascinating business, one never stops learning.
On the personal front, Jim was born and raised in Iowa, where he now resides. He has a wonderful wife and two great children. Jim works very hard on the job, but he also plays hard after work, as he loves adventures. From driving a Jeep across the highest mountain pass in the continental U.S., to summertime speed-boating, to extreme winter camping in the Boundary Waters, to hiking in the jungles of South America, Jim is always up for a new challenge.
Drop Jim an email to say hi. He enjoys hearing from his readers all over the world.

34) Larry Baer Thursday Oct 22 - 3:00pm ET
http://www.zaner.com
Biography: I am a senior broker with Zaner Group and the author of Larry Baer’s “Charts and Trade Set-Ups” e-newsletter. I have been in the futures industry for thirty years and my prior experience includes a membership at the Chicago Board of Trade.
I first learned about futures markets as a student at the University of Arizona. Of course not too many schools had courses on futures and options back then, so I majored in agricultural economics and finance. After college I started as a runner at the Chicago Board of Trade and nine months later became a member. During my tenure on the CBOT floor, I traded as a local, filled orders and served as the eyes and ears in the financial room for one of the biggest bond funds. The on-floor operation I managed serviced both retail and institutional clients.
My trading ideas are based on a matrix of common technical indicators that when viewed together, I believe generates a much stronger trading signal. The blend of this matrix coupled with my own insights offers a powerful technical picture of the markets.
I can be reached at (toll-free) 888-281-4161, direct at: 312-277-0112 or by email at LBaer@zaner.com .
Title: Understanding the Difference Between a Change-In-Trend versus a Signal to Buy or Sell
Description: When I analyze a chart, I first look to identify the trend. The second step is to wait until my indicators identify a new Buy (or a new Sell) Signal. And once the chart “gives me” that new signal, I turn and price the options on that futures contract. While I counsel traders to trade with the trend, but to do by buying relatively short-term, slightly out-of-money puts or calls. The actual strategy is very dynamic and involves a trading plan for taking profits, rolling profitable positions and managing risk. But the cornerstone is always “trading with the trend.”
I define a change in trend as the point in time when the 9 period moving average crosses the 20 period moving average. At this point, the aggressive trader would consider establishing a small portion of their new position.
But in my analysis, very specific market action is required to generate a new sell short or buy long signal. A signal to take specific market action requires more extensive validation that simply the crossing of two moving averages.
In this presentation I will show you what technical chart action is needed to generate a new Buy or Sell signal, and then how to employ long options to build a dynamic trading plan.

35) Steve Bigalow Thursday Oct 22 - 4:00pm ET
www.CandlestickForums.com
Biography: When Steve Bigalow first started using
candlestick analysis in the late 80’s, his trading was decidedly low-tech. He
would call in his orders from a phone tied to the dashboard of his truck while
driving to real estate renovation projects. Fast forward twenty years. Bigalow long ago traded in the pick-up for a
Mercedes SL500, and he has no time for house rehabbing anymore. He is now
considered one of the top candlestick experts in the country. Along with
luminaries like Steve Nissin and Greg Morris, he is among a select group of
teachers who helped bring the 400-year-old Japanese art to mainstream acceptance
in the U.S. He consults regularly with money managers on how to apply
candlesticks to their fundamental research and trading. Bigalow’s
accomplishments have been great but not easy. “I pretty much had to figure it out for myself,” Bigalow says, “because when
I started there wasn’t a whole lot of information around at that time. In the
early to mid 90’s a few books came out, which I was excited to see, but when I
read them, they weren’t anything more than I already knew. They didn’t show you
how to trade with candlesticks successfully. “So that’s why I wrote my first book, ( Profitable Candlestick Trading:
Pinpointing Market Opportunities to Maximize Profits , John Wiley & Sons,
2001) to take all the information that was out there on candlestick investing
and consolidate it into what you really needed to know to make a successful
trading plan.” Like a bar chart, a candlestick line depicts the open, high, low and close.
The body of the stick represents the range between the open and close. When the
body is hollow, the close was higher than the open; when the body is filled in,
the close was lower than the open. Shadows, the thin lines above and below the
body, represent the high and low of the day's trading range. “The boxes have quite a bit of information built into them to tell you when a
reversal is going on in a trend” Steve notes. He believes traders can build
successful strategies by combining candlestick analysis with indicators such as
stochastics, moving averages, Fibonacci numbers or trend lines. Candlesticks were first brought to Bigalow’s attention by a friend who wanted
to tap into Steve’s experience as a former stockbroker. “I didn’t do anything
real aggressive with it for two or three months, but it kept bugging me to look
at it,” Bigalow says. “Within that first year of study I started trading my
commodity account based off of candlesticks, and while I did a lot better than I
had been doing, it was a learning process. It took a lot of hard knocks to fight
through the emotions of trading and learn the necessary discipline.” Bigalow followed the first book with High Profit Candlestick Patterns:
Turning Investor Sentiment into High Profits (Profit Publishing, 2005). He
developed a trading resource web site at www.candlestickforum.com that provides
tools for beginning through advanced chartists.

off trading floors for more than 25 years, he presently trades out of his
private office (and selected internet coffee shops) in Minneapolis,
Minnesota.
Over 2 years ago, he got disgusted at the blatant misinformation bandied
about the internet and media about the realities of trading. He firmly
believes that it is almost impossible for someone to become a successful
trader if you don't know what the processes are that ensure success as a
trader. He currently has a free website and blog that shows him managing a
REAL forex trading account which he started a year ago with relatively
insignificant size: $500.00-- with the mission to make it grow more than
50% annually. The goal is $150K..., in significantly less than 10 years.
Over the last year and a half the actual return was more than 1500%, over
hundreds of trades-- with systems that he offers to viewers for free. He
feels certain to achieve the goal, as he's exceeded the challenge's total
return requirements on numerous occasions. In much less time than a
decade. (www.infiniteyield.com)
